The Topic of the Month for March 2021 is AFIS Attachments and Personally Identifiable Information (PII). The Topic of the Month can be located on the GAO website under Publications, then CFO Meetings or at /publications/cfo-meetings.

This month’s topic focuses on what is PII and why this information should be redacted from attachments in AFIS. All individuals who enter, approve, or have oversight over AFIS transactions and attachments have a responsibility to ensure that only appropriate information is recorded in AFIS and that unnecessary PII and sensitive information is redacted or not included.
