GAO has noticed several areas where object codes are being used incorrectly for various transactions.  Accordingly, we are highlighting some of the more common miscoding so that users can focus on coding these transactions appropriately.  To provide better reporting, we have added a few new objects and revenue sources, made some changes to titles and descriptions, and combined and deleted objects effective July 1, 2017. 

Users should double check the usage of any “Other” object codes (i.e., 6299, 7599, etc.) to make sure there are no other options which better classify the expenditure before continuing with the selection.
