New Lodging, Meal and Incidental Rates Effective as of October 1, 2017

The Joint Legislative Budget Committee has again approved lodging rates matching those of the Federal Government.  Meals and incidental rates are again based upon, but do not equal, the Federal rates.

An updated SAAM Section 5095, containing travel-related reimbursement rates effective October 1, 2017, has been posted.to /publications/saam. This section of SAAM also contains another policy change, dealing with days of travel, that will not take effect until October 1, 2017, and is to be ignored until then.

This updated section of SAAM is being posted before the effective date of the rates to help agencies book hotel stays on or after October 1, 2017.  For meals and lodging expenses incurred before October 1, 2017, the prior rates remain in effect.  The previous version of SAAM 5095 has been relocated to the “Archived after July 1, 2015,” location of the SAAM website at /saam-archive-post-712015
