Security Operations: Pickup of Vendor and Payroll Warrants

As of the close of business, June 30, 2015, no new Warrant Authorization Cards (commonly referred to as “gold cards”) will be issued or renewed.  Gold cards issued on or before that date can, until expiration, be used as government issued identification, but will no longer authorize pick up.

A list of all current gold card holders and their respective pick up authorizations (i.e., vendor warrants, payroll warrants, or both) will be compiled as of June 30, 2015, and maintained by GAO Support Services.  After June 30, 2015, please contact GAO Support Services at [email protected] or 602.542.5405, not GAO Security, for matters involving the pick-up of warrants.

The new process for the authorization of such activities will involve sending an email to [email protected] that contains the agency name, the employee name, the employee’s EIN and whether the employee is to be allowed to pick up vendor warrants, payroll warrants (and other related payroll documents) or both.  Additional information, such as beginning date (if other than upon receipt) and termination date (if any) should be added as well.  This email must be sent from the agency head, deputy or agency CFO (a CFO’s authorization must, however, originate with the agency head or deputy) using the sender’s official State of Arizona email address.

The person picking up the documents at the GAO must present valid, non-expired, government issued, photo identification (such as a driver’s license, State-issued badge, or a previously issued gold card) with his or her name exactly matching the email authorization before any documents will be released.
