Additional information about the New Fiscal Year Profiles Creation this weekend

GAO would like to share additional information about the NYTI process this weekend. This process will create the new fiscal year profiles.

  • The NYTI process requires more than one step:
    • The Department and Unit structures and any associated roll-ups (i.e. Branch, Cabinet, Division, Group, Section, District, and Bureau) will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 and will complete prior to the beginning of the nightly batch cycle.  A system bounce is then required for these changes to be applied, which will occur at the beginning of the nightly batch cycle on April 22nd.
    • The remaining chart of accounts and tables (as per Tables and Pages Included in NYTI on the GAO website at is /afis/afis-information) will be completed on Saturday, April 23, 2016. This step also requires a system bounce for the changes to be applied.  The bounce is schedule to occur on Saturday, April 23rd at 3:00 p.m. We anticipate that AFIS will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes.
  • In order to prevent a COA in the Unit structure from rolling to the next FY, it must be inactivated prior to 4:00 p.m. on April 22, 2016. This is a change to the communication that was sent out last week. All other COA not needed for FY17 must be inactivated prior to 8:00 p.m. on April 22, 2016.  Please do not inactivate any FY16 COA if it is currently being used and needs to be used until the end of FY16.  In addition, please do not inactivate any FY16 COA that is inferred by on Function inference if the Function is still being utilized.
  • GAO will be communicating errors from the NYTI process to impacted agencies.

If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact your AFIS liaison.
