AFIS Reports Restore in Control-D Web

The GAO has been informed that several AFIS report restore requests abended and failed in the past few days because the restore area ran out of spaces, and we need your assistance to correct this matter.

When a user restores an AFIS report that has been in archive, a restore command is triggered to retrieve the report from an archive source. This process can take 30 minutes to an hour to complete, depending on how big the report is and what master reports pool the report is restored from. Larger master report pools that store the monthly and annual reports can take more than one hour to complete the restore. If the user unknowingly and repeatedly restores the same report before the last restore command has a chance to fully complete, the restore job abends and ultimately fails because of storage issue. Please follow the two simple steps below to prevent unsuccessful restore occurrences.

  • Only restore a particular report one time, not multiple times.
  • If the report is not available after one hour, do not restore the report again. Contact ADOA Operation Support group at [email protected] or 602-364-4444, option 2. When you contact this group, provide the name of agency you are with, the report name (usually starts with DAFR) and the date it is restored. They will research your request and inform you of the next appropriate steps.

It’s a reminder that restored reports only stay in the active directory for one day, so plan on accessing them appropriately.

Your cooperation in the matter is greatly appreciated.
