FY16 ADOA-ASET Rate Reduction

ADOA-ASET has reviewed its services and associated rates. As a result of the initial analysis, ADOA-ASET has reduced the mainframe rate. This will be reflected in FY16 billings. Below is a description for each of the items reviewed by ADOA-ASET and the impact they may have on agency customers:

Update to Mainframe Rates: Beginning in FY16, there will be a decrease in the mainframe rates from $89/CPU Hr. to $79/CPU Hr. for Prime and from $44.50/CPU Hr. to $33/CPU Hr. for Off-Prime. As a result of the updated mainframe rates, a handful of agencies will see a decrease in their current costs; other agencies should see no impact.

Service Codes: ADOA-ASET has been able to confirm that the launch of Advantage (new AFIS) on July 1,2015, will not require any changes to ASET Service Codes shown on your monthly invoices.

Service Catalog: ADOA-ASET has updated and published a revised ADOA-ASET Service Catalog that reflects the new mainframe rates mentioned above. ADOA-ASET has also removed some items from the catalog that had no active customers and were no longer needed. The new Service Catalog is available on the ADOA-ASET website: https://aset.az.gov/service-catalog.

Third Party Vendor Review: In an effort to ensure that ADOA-ASET is providing the best services at comparable rates, ASET will be engaging a third party vendor to calculate the FY17 rates. These final rates are projected to be completed by November 1st and ASET will be in full communication with the customers throughout the analysis period.

Rate Analysis Steering Committee: Along with the assistance of a third party vendor, ASET has recruited varying CIOs and agency members to participate on a rate analysis steering committee. The main purpose of having customer representation in the steering committee is to assure transparency in the process and methodology of computation of the rates throughout the duration of the project. The steering committee is responsible for:

  • Committing to the charter's success
  • Overseeing the project and advising as necessary
  • Providing input and feedback
  • Ensuring transparency of the process and the model used

This committee is not responsible for determining whether the rates are high or low. There are still openings available on the committee, so if you would like to participate please send your information to Debby Dominguez at [email protected].
