NASACT Webinar: Corruption/Fraud/Theft - Case Study
NASACT is pleased to announce the latest in its series of training events addressing timely issues in government accounting, auditing and financial management.
For several years, an elected official and their family member in rural Kentucky perpetrated a fraud scheme related to federal funds and local tax collections. During this webinar, the FBI special agent responsible for investigating the scheme will share insights on the case and how the fraud was discovered.
With the possibility of new standards from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants focusing on the auditor’s responsibilities related to fraud risks, this will be a timely case study on what can go wrong when government officials look to their own self-interests at the expense of those they are entrusted to serve.
