Postponement of GASB Statement No. 84 and Statement No. 90
In the AFIS FYE 2020 Closing Instructions, Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statements section, the GAO had requested that agencies implement for Fiscal Year 2020 GASB Statement No. 84, Fiduciary Activities and GASB Statement No. 90, Majority Equity Interests - an amendment of GASB Statements No. 14 and No. 61.
With the recent issuance of GASB Statement No. 95, certain GASB Standards have had their effective date of implementation postponed, including Statement No. 84 and Statement No. 90.
Henceforth, the implementation of GASB Statement No. 84 and Statement No. 90 is postponed by one year to Fiscal Year 2021. If your agency is planning on implementing either of these Statements in Fiscal Year 2020, please contact us at [email protected].
