Using Purchasing Cards (P-Cards) for On/Off-Contract Purchases - Topic of the Month

The Topic of the Month for May 2021 is Using P-Cards for On/Off-Contract Purchases.  All Topics of the Month can be located on the GAO website under Publications, then CFO Meetings or at /publications/cfo-meetings.

This month’s topic was prepared with assistance from the State Procurement Office (SPO). It provides several helpful resources, including references to applicable SAAM policies and the State Procurement Office’s standard procedure for making off-contract purchases.  This Topic of the Month addresses many common questions that are asked about P-cards and how they can be used. Additional information and resources are also included.  It is recommended that this information be shared with P-Card cardholders and those who review, approve, or process P-Card transactions and/or reconciliations.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email [email protected] or contact your AFIS Liaison.  If you have procurement related questions, please contact the SPO or your Chief Procurement Officer (CPO).
