The 1099 Reporting for Calendar Year 2023 memo explains the 1099‑MISC and 1099-NEC verification and correction process and is now available on the General Accounting Office (GAO) website. It is available on the All Agency Memoranda page located under Publications.

Note that vendor file corrections and GAO-94 forms are due to the GAO as soon as possible, but no later than 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024. This ensures timely delivery of the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC files to the contracted vendor who will print and mail the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms. The GAO-94 form is available on the GAO website’s Forms page located under Publications. Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC for Calendar Year 2023 will be mailed to the recipients no later than January 31, 2024.
