As indicated in the August 12, 2022 webstory, the Office of Management and Budget issued a six-month extension on the FY 2021 Single Audit in the March 19th, 2021 memo M-21-20 Promoting Public Trust in the Federal Government through Effective Implementation of the American Rescue Plan Act and Stewardship of the Taxpayer Resources. The deadline with the extension is September 30, 2022. The General Accounting Office (GAO) and Auditor General are estimating the submittal will be November 18, 2022. However, it could be as late as the end of November.

The GAO has contacted the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services concerning the submission of the 2021 Single Audit.  The communication is available from the Federal and Cost Accounting team at [email protected] for state agencies to provide to their grantors as needed.
